Xinjiang cooperates with Alibaba in developing e-commerce

The government of Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region signed cooperation framework agreement with Alibaba, a Chinese online electronic retailer, on Nov 23. When Xinjiang government held a seminar with Zhang Chunxian, the Party secretary of Xinjiang discussed the regional e-commerce with Jack Ma Yun, founder and executive chairman of China''s Alibaba Group. The Xinjiang Party's vice-secretary Nuer?Baikeli hosted the seminar.
Zhang Chunxian expressed that the Xinjiang government valued the cooperation with Alibaba; signing agreements was one important step for further working together. He also praised Alibaba's e-commerce as a new way of doing business, which greatly promotes trade and the economy as well.

He went on to say "Xinjinag is looking forward to building an Online to Offline (O2O) experience center. Which will enable Xinjiang locals to buy goods of other regions. Xinjiang government expects to help farmers sell products in local and abroad markets via Internet technologies, like cloud computing and e-commerce, and to cultivate more talents through Alibaba's cooperating trainings.'
Jack Ma Yun commented that "Xinjiang's e-commerce is very promising.' He promised that "Alibaba will support Xinjiang's retailors to promote their agricultural and sideline products and handcrafts online by providing training sessions and improve the logistics.'
